Algonquin Park is one of Canada’s most celebrated wilderness areas. Made famous by Tom Thompson and his contemporaries, the whole idea of a flatwater canoe trip seems to be influenced by the Park. Voyageur Quest has been operating in the sleepy and beautiful northwest corner of Algonquin for 25 years. The guiding operation has introduced countless numbers of people to the world of canoes and lakes. When VQ owner John Langford approached me about producing a promo video about his operation we immediately decided that there was more to the story than just smiling faces and reflections on the water. As I tend say, a traditional promo video just wouldn’t cut it. Running an operation off the grid for 25 years is no simple task, but the work has so many intrinsic rewards. This is the story of the passion behind a life in the woods. Please watch and enjoy below.
